Kepi Ghoulie “Start Me Up” 12 “ inch Single Eccentric Pop Records   Alright!! The most positive person in punk it back with a new 12” single. Kepi is a national treasure and just recently relocated to Portland Oregon from Sacramento California. You most likely remember him best from his spooky rock’n’roll outfit the Groovie Ghoulies. He has done everything from punk, pop, country, folk and everything in-between. This time he takes a stab at reggae. What you get here is two covers and dub versions of each song. A side is is the Rolling Stones classic “Start Me Up” followed by Prince’s When you were mine on the b-side. Was record necessary? Probably not. Is it still a blast and something I think we needed right now? My answer is hell yeah!!!! It’s all about fun kids!!  I am curious if there is more reggae tunes to follow on a full length? Time will tell I suppose?  Also this killer video of people ripping it up on skateboards is a plus.
