Healing Gems are a space-age Latin-infused tropical exotica psych six piece from East Los Angeles. Definitely of my favorite indie bands in Los Angeles, these cats are some real ones that have been doing it a while now. I discovered them because they played shows with The Cauterizers whos record I just released on Buddyhead.

Healing Gems are out here blending Latin, jazz, surf guitar, indie rock and tropicalia together to make a laid back and dreamy new sound that feels like right now while also being reminiscent of the past. Chilled out male and female vocals alternate in English and sometimes Spanish, always vibey and always cool.

This full length is a solid offering, I dig it. My only gripe is it’s a little short at only 9 songs and 35 minutes. I could live in this world a lot longer kids. My favorite song on here is "Melody Lounge", which is funny cuz that’s also one of my favorite bars in Downtown Los Angeles. I also fuck with the songs “Jungle Aurora” and "Swords Dance" on here as well. But front to back it's cinematic bangers, you can't lose.

So yeah, throw this jawn on, fill up the inflatable pool, get yourself a couple Mai Thais, get a loud Hawaii shirt, light a joint, pretend you're in some tropical tiki spy movie and chill the fuck out. Let Healing Gems take you away to a tropical paradise my dude. You know the vibes!
