This shit is beutiful bro. I'm new to the Bill Orcutt fan club but here I am, just happy to be here. Joe Cardamone sent this over to me yesterday, it came out last week. After doing a little bit of homework I've found out this dude was in the band Hairy Pussy (they toured with Sonic Youth among others) and he's since put out a gang of these solo records. Let's gooooo!

On this record Bill is combining his sick ass angular blusey guitar playing with some choral and classical sounds which ends up working really well and at times gave me the same feeling Spiritualized can. The lyrics are minimal here and the vibe I can only describe as heavenly deathbed outlaw country rock. This is the music bad boys make when they grow up.

I'm guessing that's kind of what the title is referencing, or maybe it's also talking about rescuing old forms of music and making them more moden... both? Maybe I'm over thinking it.
